Anna Claire
Anna Claire works with stones that began their journey in the Fiordland and southern coast fault lines. Material that has been transformed by heat and pressure and then transported by rivers to the southern beaches where Anna Claire collects materials to use in her jewellery. Selected and sorted by size, shape and colour, Anna Claire assembles these with silver fittings to produce stunning neckwear and simple earrings. The more ambitious has the smallest of pebbles and shells held by clear resin in silver frames, evoking memories of rock pools and beach fossicking of our own. Silhouettes of windblown trees, power poles and islands add to the narrative that Anna Claire expresses through her work.
