David was born in the South Island of New Zealand where he started creating jewellery as a child. He studied at the Dunedin School of Art for four years where he was awarded an Advanced Diploma in Jewellery design. David has held solo shows in Dunedin, Wellington and The United Kingdom and has contributed to combined shows throughout New Zealand and Australia. He enjoys working with organic forms and colour. His works feature shell, pearls, stone and silver.
"I love Pacifica art and adornment which has a strong influenced in my Practice. My work is about light, colour ,movement in form. Working with light reflections is often the most important element in my work. That's what excites me. I enjoy the elusiveness of light it's way of changing when it's looked at and how it changes when it's worn."
