Joan Leach

Joan Leach studied at Otago Polytechnic, gaining a design degree with distinction in her 50s, and went on to create a fashion label with an emphasis on tailored structures, using high quality materials. Moving to Christchurch in 2022, she changed her focus to ceramics, and now uses this medium to express her love of subtle detail, and uncluttered design. Creating jewellery, and incorporating  pattern making skills allows her to test ideas for both wearable and object art.
